Although "Cabo" refers to Baja's 18-mile coastal corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo (map), your "Cabo" experience can be either pretty fab or pretty drab depending on which Cabo you choose.

While Cabo San Lucas wraps around the majestic beauty of El Arco (pictured), San Jose del Cabo faces a blah shoreline with far too many noisy construction sites. Until all the dust settles, it's best to leave San Jose del Cabo for a low-key daytrip. For pretty's sake, stay in Cabo San Lucas.
